Alignerr is seeking a Back End Developer for a fully remote, hourly contract role in the Seattle area. You will design, build, and optimize server-side systems and APIs powering AI products, data pipelines, and scalable microservices, with flexible 10–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more backend languages (Python, Go, Java, Node.js, Rust).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases; cloud platforms; Git and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Build scalable server-side architecture for AI training/inference workloads.
• Write clean, well-documented, testable code following best practices.
• Integrate with databases, queues, cloud services, and third-party APIs.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability as usage grows.
• Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams across time zones.
• Troubleshoot production issues and conduct code reviews.
• Work independently on task- and project-based assignments.
