GitLab is seeking a Backend Engineer to mature the Pipeline Authoring Catalog and Component functionality, enhancing performance, scalability, and security of Pipeline Creation. You will work with a skilled team to ensure a best-in-class GitLab CI/CD experience across multiple time zones.

The role emphasizes async collaboration, writing testable Ruby code, and contributing to reviews, with opportunities to shape architecture and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL a plus).
• Experience with GraphQL is a plus.
• Ability to work asynchronously and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Ship small features and improvements with minimal guidance.
• Improve reliability, security, and performance of GitLab CI/CD components.
