Duckietown is seeking a backend software developer / DevOps to own and extend part of our backend infrastructure. The role focuses on building scalable systems for users and robotics content, with responsibilities spanning registration, content storage, and payments.

You will work with Docker, Python, Postgres, and AWS in a remote, globally distributed team. The company values pragmatism, ownership, and collaboration, and offers stock options and a fun ducky incentive program.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS/Engineering/Robotics or similar.
• Experience with large Python projects.
• Familiarity with server-side programming.
• Experience with Docker and SQL (Postgres).
• Professional English writing, comprehension, and speaking skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and extend part of the backend infrastructure.
• Implement user registration, groups/roles, and content storage systems.
• Develop payment infrastructure and data handling for robotics content and classes.
• Support deployments and backend operations on AWS and related services.
• Contribute to robot fleet updates and data collection workflows.
