Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a remote Software Engineer to develop scalable microservices and APIs using Python, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms. You will mentor junior developers and contribute to architecture while ensuring best practices in CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires 3+ years of software development experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel ~10%. Primary location is Toronto, with remote work options and a global tech environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
3+ years of professional software development experience (Python preferred)
Experience with API development and the CRUD model
Automating builds for a CD model
Exposure to microservices architecture and Dapr
Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud platforms
Understanding of Scrum Agile methodology
Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
Knowledge of IT operations best practices for always-on services
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel ~10%

Responsibilities

Develop microservices and APIs using C#, .NET Core, Dapr and Kubernetes
Apply design patterns to ensure maintainable code
Implement scalable, cloud-native solutions
Integrate with MongoDB and SQL databases
Participate in solution design and technical documentation
Ensure coding standards, security and performance benchmarks
Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments
Work across multiple discipline areas to meet project objectives
Deliver high-quality outputs within target timeframes
Use CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub) to create pipelines for builds/releases
Occasional after-hours on-call support
