Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Software Engineer on the platform team to own and deliver full features, building reliable APIs and data infrastructure that shape the customer experience. You will collaborate with backend and frontend engineers, designing clean, scalable systems and ensuring performance and observability at scale.

Qualifications include 6+ years in backend engineering, a CS/engineering degree, and hands-on AWS, Postgres, and Node.js experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, backend systems, and API development.
• Solid hands-on experience with AWS, Postgres, and Node.js, including production deployments.
• Proficiency across the stack: TypeGraphQL, Apollo/Express, React, RDS, and ClickHouse.
• Demonstrated ownership of large-scale backend projects and strong code quality.
• Clear communication with cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build infrastructure, data models, and APIs that power core platform features.
• Ship well-designed, testable code with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Build and maintain software testing, validation procedures, and technical documentation.
• Own core internal infrastructure and ML systems to serve evolving customer needs.
• Analyze complex system challenges and deliver simple, scalable designs with good observability and SLA adherence.
