Job summary

Superhuman is hiring a Backend Engineer for the Mail team, focused on AI-powered workflows and scalable calendar backends. You will work remotely from LATAM, contributing to Go-based services, real-time data pipelines, and API design that supports all product surfaces.

You will collaborate with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End engineers while growing your skills in a fast-paced, reliability-driven environment with strong documentation and testing practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience with strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
• Experience building, deploying, and debugging production systems at scale.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms (GCP, Azure).
• Comfort with AI-powered systems and real-time, high-throughput APIs.
• CI/CD and infrastructure as code are strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate high-throughput production services powering AI agent orchestration.
• Design core platform services: schedulers, session history, client-server protocols, APIs.
• Collaborate with ML/AI, Product, and Front-End teams to ship features end-to-end.
• Evolve infrastructure as code with a focus on reliability and availability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering culture.
