Job summary

Altus Commercial Receivables is seeking a Business Collections Specialist to join our remote team. The role focuses on contacting debtors by phone, mail, or email, negotiating payments, and resolving disputes while ensuring compliance and escalation paths are followed.

The ideal candidate has collections, sales, or customer service experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Salesforce experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Collections, sales, telemarketing, customer service, or call center experience preferred.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry; Excel preferred.
• Strong writing and math skills; critical thinker.
• Ability to de-escalate adverse situations and maintain professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Contact debtors by phone, mail, or email to collect payments or arrange payment plans.
• Negotiate payment in full or establish a payment arrangement.
• Create a sense of urgency for non-paying debtors and meet quotas.
• Collaborate with clients, support reps, and peers to resolve disputes.
• Ensure compliance and escalate when necessary.
