Job summary

Ascend Technologies is seeking an Azure Lead AppDev Engineer to drive modernization across legacy and cloud-native initiatives from a fully remote position. This role reports to the client Modernization Program and guides engineering delivery across both operational support and cloud-native transformation.

The Lead will mentor engineers, enforce standards, and ensure that modernization improves scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency while aligning with enterprise architecture standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of enterprise application engineering experience with modernization/refactoring.
• Deep hands-on with C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET 6–8, and REST API development.
• Azure PaaS hosting experience and cloud-native delivery practices.
• Strong SQL Server experience and EF Core patterns.
• CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows.
• Experience leading engineering teams through delivery and code reviews.
• Secure coding practices and OAuth/OIDC/Azure AD concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day engineering execution across modernization and operations workstreams.
• Translate modernization blueprints into sprint-level engineering designs, tasks, and deliverables.
• Lead refactoring of legacy applications into .NET 8+ patterns, including modularization.
