Job summary

Ascend Technologies is seeking an Azure Systems Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure within Azure for remote clients. You will implement IaC, automation, and modernize hybrid environments while collaborating with Agile teams and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes cloud strategy, enterprise-grade security, and end-to-end delivery, with a compensation range around six-figures and a strong focus on performance and client value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure management, or cloud operations, including 3+ years with Azure environments.
• Proficiency with ARM, Terraform, Ansible, and Bicep for infrastructure automation.
• Hands-on experience managing Windows and Linux environments.
• Deep knowledge of Azure networking, identity (AAD/Entra ID), security, and monitoring services.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and version control (Git).
• Scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
• Agile/Scrum collaboration and strong client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure components (compute, storage, networking, security).
• Build hybrid and cloud-native systems using IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Implement automated deployment and configuration pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Ansible).
• Support modernization and migration, including virtualization, containers (Docker), and Kubernetes deployments.
• Administer and optimize Azure Entra ID, SSO configurations, and identity integrations.
• Configure Windows and Linux servers across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Monitor performance with Grafana, Graylog, Wazuh, and Uptime Kuma for reliability.
• Develop automation scripts in PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
• Lead or contribute to migration roadmaps and environment readiness.
