Job summary

CBTS is seeking three mid-level DevOps Engineers to join a build/release automation team for a six-month engagement. They will own CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy, and manage release orchestration across environments.

The role requires 3–5 years in DevOps or Release Engineering, and hands-on GitHub Actions and Octopus Deploy experience. This contract is remote but candidates must live within 50 miles of Cincinnati, OH, Phoenix, AZ, or Portland, OR.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a DevOps, Release Engineering, or Build/Release role.
• Hands-on production experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline development.
• Hands-on production experience with Octopus Deploy for release management (direct Octopus experience required).
• Solid understanding of build automation, artifact management, and multi-environment deployment strategies.
• Comfortable working independently within an established toolchain.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for pipeline and deployment failures.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
• Own release automation and deployment orchestration using Octopus Deploy-Must Have.
• Manage build/release processes across multiple environments (dev, staging, production).
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve pipeline failures and improve build reliability.
• Monitor and maintain deployment health, rolling back or remediating failed releases as needed.
• Document pipeline configurations and release procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation for release-related incidents (if applicable to team structure).
