Matlen Silver is seeking a hands-on Lead Azure Cloud Security Engineer to support a federal modernization initiative in a remote contract role. You will focus on cloud security engineering, monitoring, hardening, automated remediation, and compliance readiness within a FedRAMP High and FISMA High environment.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of cybersecurity experience and deep expertise with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, KQL, and Azure security configurations.

• 5–7 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, focused on cloud security engineering.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, KQL and DCRs.
• Experience supporting FedRAMP/FISMA or similar federal compliance.

Responsabilidades

• Configure and maintain Sentinel and Log Analytics for cloud security monitoring.
• Develop and optimize KQL queries and Sentinel rules to identify threats and config issues.
• Build automated incident workflows using Logic Apps, Sentinel Playbooks and Automation Rules.
• Configure data connectors, AMA and DCRs to centralize security logs.
• Leverage Defender for Cloud to monitor posture and remediate gaps.
• Apply CIS Benchmarks and STIGs across Azure infra and containers.
• Support FedRAMP High, FISMA High, and NIST 800-53 Rev. 5 assessments.
• Gather audit logs and evidence for third-party audits and POA&M items.
• Work in Agile/Scrum and integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines.
