Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Senior Azure AI Solutions Architect/Engineer to lead enterprise Generative AI, document intelligence, and RAG initiatives for a federal client. You will configure Azure AI services, build prototypes and production solutions, and transfer knowledge to teams.

Remote work is supported for a DC-area federal environment. You will collaborate with IBM FileNet/DataCap teams, implement robust security controls, and drive evaluation frameworks for AI outputs, accuracy, and governance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, AI, or related discipline with 12 years (or commensurate experience).
• Clearance Level: Public Trust
• 8+ years of progressive experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise software, cloud, or data solutions.
• 5+ years in senior engineering/architecture roles.
• 3+ years hands-on AI/ML solution design.
• 2+ years hands-on Generative AI/LLM/RAG applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure AI ecosystem (Foundry, Azure AI Foundry, Azure-hosted models).
• Experience with Azure AI Search and enterprise semantic/vector search.
• Experience with Python and/or Java for enterprise AI development.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, and implementation of enterprise Generative AI solutions using Azure AI ecosystem.
• Design and implement solutions using Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI/model services, Azure AI Search, and Azure Document Intelligence.
• Architect and implement RAG over enterprise data.
• Develop AI-assisted enterprise search capabilities across large document repositories.
• Develop natural-language QA, summarization, information extraction, and structured output generation.
• Implement secure integration patterns between Azure AI services and enterprise apps and data sources.
• Mentor architects and developers on Azure AI, RAG, LLM integration, and responsible AI.
