Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. in Houston is seeking a Senior AI/ML Engineer to design, build and deploy production-ready Generative AI applications that integrate enterprise data and telemetry into mission-critical workflows.

You will architect Retrieval-Augmented Generation solutions on the Azure ecosystem, work with data engineers, software developers, and energy-domain stakeholders to deliver reliable AI services, and drive secure backend APIs, containerization and deployment across AKS, App Services,

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software or ML engineering experience.
• Hands-on Python development experience.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI and LLM-based solutions.
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices design.
• Familiarity with containerization and cloud deployments (Docker, AKS).
• Experience with data platforms like Databricks, Azure Data Factory or Synapse.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end Generative AI apps using Azure OpenAI and Copilot Studio.
• Architect RAG solutions with document ingestion, embedding, vector indexing and retrieval.
• Develop agentic AI workflows integrating APIs, tools and business processes.
• Build secure, high-performance backend APIs and microservices in Python.
• Containerize apps and deploy to AKS, App Services and Functions.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and collaborate with data engineers.
