Job summary

Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company, seeks a Behavioral Health Care Manager to lead care coordination for members with behavioral health and substance use needs in Arizona. The role requires clinical licensure and residency in Arizona, and offers a Monday–Friday schedule with remote flexibility for Arizona-based employees.

You will engage high-risk members, coordinate with providers, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy; or Doctorate-degreed Psychologist.
• Active, unrestricted licensed to practice independently in Arizona: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or LP.
• 2+ years of experience in a related mental health environment.
• 1+ year experience with local/state community resources in Arizona.
• Proficient in MS Office including Teams, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Permanent residency in Arizona.

Responsibilities

• Engage members transitioning through various levels of behavioral health care.
• Complete member assessments and educate on resources and services available to members.
• Coordinate and collaborate with providers and treatment teams.
• Strategize and solve barriers preventing care or delaying services.
• Identify ways to add value to treatment plans and consult with facility staff or outpatient care providers.
• Work from an Integrated Care Management Model to ensure high-risk members receive evidenced-based care and medically necessary services.
• Join weekly Interdisciplinary Team Rounds to collaborate with cross-functional teams on high-risk members.

Education
