Job summary

Buchanan Technologies is seeking an experienced AWS Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support enterprise production environments with a focus on AWS infrastructure, automation, and reliability. This is a remote, contract-to-hire opportunity for candidates located in the Eastern United States.

The role emphasizes automation and IaC using Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation, with in-depth AWS services knowledge and strong Linux troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production AWS support experience.
• Experience in an SRE or Production Operations role.
• Hands-on Ansible experience.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
• Experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
• Linux administration and production troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain production AWS environments.
• Automate infrastructure using Ansible, Terraform, and/or AWS CloudFormation.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure for reliability and performance.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS environments.
• Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, Security, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
