Job summary

Signet Jewelers is seeking an AWS Data Architect to oversee enterprise data platform architecture on AWS, combining hands-on technical leadership with architectural ownership. You will define governance, data modeling, and ensure scalable, secure data solutions across teams.

The role collaborates with data engineers and business stakeholders to deliver reliable analytics, streaming pipelines, and AI/ML readiness, while enforcing data quality and cloud-native governance standards.

Qualifications

• 11+ years in software engineering or relevant IT experience.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture patterns (lakehouse, warehouse, mesh).
• Hands on AWS services experience including SQS, API Gateway, SNS, Kinesis, Glue, Event Bridge, Redshift, Lambda, CloudWatch, RDS.
• Proven experience designing and operating enterprise scale data platforms on AWS.
• Solid experience with data modeling for analytical and operational workloads.
• Strong understanding of event driven architectures and real time data streaming patterns.
• IAM implementation within AWS cloud environments.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (CDK/Terraform) and modern DevOps (CI/CD, GIT).
• Excellent communication skills with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands on technical leadership through code reviews and design walkthroughs.
• Design and evolve event driven real time data streaming architectures.
• Define and enforce best practices for data access, storage, and processing.
• Architect and implement scalable data platforms on AWS with Python and AWS services.
• Ensure data architectures support analytics, reporting and AI/ML use cases.
• Drive end to end data modeling across domains.
• Define and implement data quality frameworks and automated checks.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts and stakeholders on data solutions.
• Establish data governance standards including metadata management.
