Job summary

Cognizant seeks an AWS Cloud Ops Engineer to monitor and support AWS infrastructure across production and non-production environments, handling health checks and incident response.

You will manage CloudWatch and Dynatrace monitoring, EBS snapshots, VPC logs, DNS and firewall coordination, and deployment runbooks.

Required: 5+ years IT infrastructure and 3+ years AWS ops; preferred AWS certs and ITIL; salary and benefits per posting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT infrastructure, cloud operations, production support, or systems engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on AWS operations experience preferred.
• Experience supporting production AWS workloads, monitoring tools, incident response processes, backup validation, and runbooks.
• Strong communication, documentation, ownership, troubleshooting, and weekend/on-call readiness.
• Familiarity with TriZetto Facets healthcare/payer platforms is preferred.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily AWS cloud infrastructure health checks, including disk space, agent status, availability, and readiness.
• Configure, manage, and enhance cloud infrastructure monitoring using CloudWatch and Dynatrace with dashboards and alarms.
• Investigate monitoring alerts for outages, performance issues, and infrastructure anomalies.
• Configure CloudWatch notifications to alert on-call for critical incidents.
• Manage production EBS snapshots, disk sizing, and backup validation for EC2/RDS.
• Manage VPC Flow Logs, EC2 logs, S3 bucket access, and cross-account AWS access.
• Troubleshoot outages, network issues, DNS zones, firewall changes, and access problems.
• Support deployments by executing approved runbooks and weekend communications.
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and support TriZetto Facets installation activities.
• Monitor Subversion repositories and support infrastructure resizing.
