Job summary

Merci Technologies is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure for an enterprise client. This fully remote role supports Full-Time or Contract candidates.

You will work across provisioning, automation, and operations for AWS workloads, collaborating with development and security teams to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and secure cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure design and operations.
• Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC and scripting in Python or Bash.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS, or EKS).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (VPC, subnets, routing, security groups).
• Proficiency with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog).
• AWS certification preferred (Solutions Architect Associate or higher).
• Experience in compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, CMMC, HIPAA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Configure and optimize core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch).
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost, and availability; implement improvements.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce least-privilege access and encryption.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across networking, compute, and storage.
• Support migration of on-prem workloads to AWS where applicable.
• Document architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures.
