Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Remote Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer to join a distributed team. In this fully remote role, you will develop test strategies, create test cases, execute manual and automated tests, and report defects to ensure our automotive products meet high standards of performance and safety.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design automated test scripts, and contribute to QA process improvements while thriving in a remote work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of QA experience, with automotive/embedded focus.
• Experience with automated testing and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Familiarity with automotive standards and protocols (AUTOSAR, CAN, ISO 26262) is a plus.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Remote Automotive Quality Assurance Engineer to join their distributed team. In this fully remote position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of automotive software and systems. Your responsibilities will include developing test strategies, creating test cases, executing manual and automated tests, and reporting defects to guarantee that our client's automotive products meet the highest standards of performance and safety. This role requires a meticulous approach and the ability to work autonomously within a virtual team setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for automotive software and hardware components.
• Perform various types of testing, including functional, integration, regression, performance, and usability testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Design and implement automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and systems engineering, to understand requirements and ensure product quality.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a specific focus on automotive systems or embedded software.
• Proficiency in test methodologies, test plan creation, and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, or similar).Understanding of automotive standards and protocols (e.g., AUTOSAR, CAN, ISO 26262) is a strong plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
