Job summary

Abbott is seeking an Automation Technical Specialist to act as the subject matter expert in automation hardware solutions for large core clinical laboratories. You will lead a localized service team, manage on-site installation, testing, and handover for informatics, and train local staff on new features.

You will coordinate with sales, project managers, and contractors, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance while supporting post-implementation needs and maintaining fiscal discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field; 2–5 years field service experience.
• Knowledge of automation systems and regulatory standards for IVDs.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as automation hardware SME for large core clinical laboratories.
• Lead a local team of service specialists for on-site installation and testing.
• Coordinate with sales, project managers, and vendors during implementation.
• Provide training on new automation hardware to field staff.
• Sustain quality systems and adhere to Abbott Code of Conduct.
• Support post-implementation escalations for local field teams.
• Maintain cost discipline and align with annual work plans.
