Job summary

Caterpillar invites an Electrical Engineer to join the Electric Power Division in the United States, focusing on the design, development, and implementation of generator control switchgear systems. You will deliver automation and control solutions for complex power systems from concept through commissioning.

The role involves independent and collaborative work, retrofitting and deploying new systems, converting legacy PLC programs, and training teams on maintenance and operation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or EE Tech preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
Experience with PLC-based control systems and HMIs.
Ability to read electrical schematics/blueprints.

Responsibilities

Identify retrofit opportunities and define project scope with Dealer/Factory teams.
Design, program, test, and commission LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
Convert legacy PLC programs and develop PLC/HMI applications using templates.
Support field performance and provide technical training to technicians and customers.
