Job summary

Independence Blue Cross is seeking a BH Autism Care Management Coordinator to evaluate members' autism and ABA needs by reviewing medical records and applying medical necessity criteria. This fully remote role serves the Tri-State area and collaborates with providers, care navigators, and medical directors to ensure appropriate, compliant care.

You will educate caregivers and providers, coordinate with therapy services, and document all steps in accordance with policy while supporting seamless

Qualifications

• Active unrestricted independent clinical mental health license in the U.S.
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification is required.
• Minimum 3 years post independent licensure in facility-based or outpatient psychiatric/SUD settings.
• 3 years BCBA experience providing ABA services and supervising paraprofessionals.
• Knowledge of DSM-5 or latest edition and ability to determine medical necessity for autism/ABA care.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to determine medical necessity for Autism and ABA services.
• Interact with providers to obtain additional BH information when needed.
• Commit financially to authorize medically necessary services while ensuring compliance.
• Educate caregivers, families, and providers on autism benefits and procedures.
• Coordinate with IBX Care Navigators, Case Management, and other services for comprehensive care.
