Qualifications

• Basic requirements: a degree in accounting, auditing, or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting.
• Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years in performance auditing.
• One of: 24 semester hours in accounting/auditing; or CPA/CIA certification.
• Financial management certification: certification within 2 years of employment is required.
• Certification program supports DoD financial management; certification may be required for some roles.
• Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance; overtime may be required.
• This position is Essential Personnel and may be assigned to duties during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Incumbent serves as an agent of the United States Property and Fiscal Officer on accounting, financial, and managerial issues that require examination by a financial professional.
• Performs quick response reviews, consulting and advisory services, risk management, liaison with external audit organizations, audit compliance and follow-up, and a variety of staff and systems accounting duties to analyze accounting records and to enhance the financial reports and operational data used by local management.
• Position is located in the United States Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO).
• Incumbent reports to the Internal Review Division Chief, and may receive guidance from IR Supervisor or IR Accountant Auditor.
• Reviews automated accounting and financial systems and identifies changes to enhance reporting and data tracking; conducts medium complexity internal reviews.
