Job summary

The U.S. Army National Guard is seeking an Auditor (GS-0511-11) to serve as an agent of the United States Property and Fiscal Officer on accounting, financial, and managerial issues requiring professional examination. The position is located in the USPFO and reports to the Internal Review Division Chief.

Incumbent may receive guidance from a higher graded IR Supervisor or IR Accountant Auditor as assigned. This is a National Guard Title 5 Excepted Service position.

Qualifications

• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a two year trial period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
• For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
• For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a AUDITOR, Position Description Number T5147P01 and is part of the UNITED STATES PROPERTY AND FISCAL OFFICE, National Guard.

This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Veterans Preference does not apply to professional series.

Duties

As an AUDITOR (GS-0511-11), you will serves as an agent of the United States Property and Fiscal Officer on accounting, financial, and managerial issues that require examination by a financial professional. Performs quick response reviews, consulting and advisory services, risk management, liaison with external audit organizations, audit compliance and follow-up, and a variety of staff and systems accounting duties to analyze accounting records and to enhance the financial reports and operational data used by local management. Position is located in the United States Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO). Incumbent reports to the Internal Review Division Chief, but may receive guidance and directions from a higher graded IR Supervisor or IR Accountant Auditor if assigned.
