Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic requirements: Degree in Accounting or Auditing or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting (may include up to 6 hours in business law).
• 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing or equivalent combination of education and auditing training.

Responsibilities

• Performs the most complex analysis and evaluations related to accounting, management control and risk management.
• Identifies and addresses problem areas that may lead to changes in systems; proposes solutions to improve controls and reporting.
• Develops, coordinates and publishes regulations and procedures; guides impact on management processes.
• Verifies proper use of funds and monitors financial activity to detect deviations from statutes or funding limits.
• Performs a variety of reviews using advanced auditing techniques to uncover fraud, abuse or illegal acts.
• Drafts reports and discusses findings with officials, recommending corrective actions.
