Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency in the United States seeks an Attorney-Adviser (Contract) to advise on procurement, contract formation, performance, and litigation across all stages of acquisition for DCSO. Role includes bid protests, contract administration, and interactions with senior leadership.

The selected attorney will work with HQ DLA Acquisition Law Division and major subordinate commands, with telework eligibility and potential for development.

Qualifications

• First professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.).
• Bar admission in the highest court of a State/DC with certificate of good standing dated within 6 months of closing date.
• GS-13 requires 2+ years of professional legal experience; GS-14 requires 3+ years; DoD policy governs promotion.

Responsibilities

• Advise on acquisition planning, contract formation, and source selection.
• Represent the agency in bid protests before GAO, Court of Federal Claims, and ASBCA.
• Assist with contract administration matters including modifications, disputes, and terminations.
• Assist DOJ in cases filed in Federal court and support internal/external reviews and audits.
• Train DCSO personnel on acquisition matters and collaborate with HQ and command offices.
