Job summary

The American Physical Society is seeking an Associate Editor for Physical Review Letters (PRL). You will handle all phases of peer review and decide which papers to publish, contributing to the world’s premier physics letters journal in a dynamic, global environment.

A PhD in Quantum Information Science and Technology with postdoctoral experience is required; at least one year of postdoctoral experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• PhD in Quantum Information Science and Technology.
• Postdoctoral experience in the field.
• Excellent knowledge of the science and literature in their area.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of peer review for a suite of manuscripts.
• Coordinate with editors and referees to evaluate submissions.
• Summarize and highlight papers for the journal.
• Stay current with physics research and engage with researchers.
• Support post-acceptance processes and resolve production issues.
• Ensure ethical standards and editorial consistency across decisions.
• Develop relationships with researchers and represent journals at conferences.
