Job summary

The American Physical Society seeks an Associate Editor for Physical Review Letters, a premier physics Letters journal. You will handle all phases of peer review, decide on publications, and collaborate with editors worldwide.

A PhD in Quantum Information Science and Technology plus postdoctoral experience are required, with remote-first flexibility for US staff. You will engage with researchers, contribute to editorial strategy, and uphold ethical standards.

Qualifications

• PhD in Quantum Information Science and Technology.
• Minimum one year of postdoctoral experience.
• Excellent knowledge of the science and literature in their field.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of peer review for a suite of manuscripts.
• Maintain close contact with PRL editors and other journals in the portfolio.
• Help select and briefly summarize papers to highlight.
• Keep up with current and emerging physics research and communicate it to editors.
• Support the manuscript post-acceptance process including summaries and images.
