Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Associate Director, Optum Rx Communications to lead strategic communications for the Optum Rx PBM business. You will partner with cross-functional teams to craft messaging, support business priorities and protect the company’s reputation.

The role supports remote work from anywhere in the U.S. with in‑office four days per week for Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. areas, and includes a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in communications, public affairs or marketing communications.
• 5+ years in external communications or media relations.
• Experience with regulated health care environments and stakeholders.
• Ability to influence across functions and levels.
• Strong written and verbal communications; executive-ready materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic communications counsel for Optum Rx PBM business.
• Develop and execute integrated communications aligned to priorities.
• Identify proactive storytelling opportunities to reinforce leadership.
• Coordinate messaging across Optum, UnitedHealthcare and UnitedHealth Group.
• Monitor trends and measure outcomes to optimize impact.
