Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an Associate Director of Clinical Operations to lead strategic execution across multiple clinical programs for a CRO focused on government and commercial development. This remote role supports teams based in Bethesda, MD.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in clinical operations, CRO or pharma, with senior leadership and strong client-facing experience, FDA/GCP/ICH knowledge, and oncology exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or related field.
• 10+ years in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or clinical research environments.
• 6+ years in leadership or project management.
• Experience as CRA/CTM/Monitoring Manager or Site Monitoring SME.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical operations strategy and program execution.
• Oversee trial management, site monitoring, TMF, and clinical systems.
• Manage timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables for complex studies.
• Serve as primary client-facing operational leader for sponsors.
• Direct and mentor trial managers and monitoring teams.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation, and drive process improvements.
• Support inspection readiness, CAPAs, KPI tracking, audits, SOPs, and proposals.
