Qualifications

• JD required and Virginia Bar in good standing.
• 2–6+ years of relevant litigation experience, including insurance defense, civil litigation, and/or personal injury matters.
• Strong legal research, writing, analysis, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to travel as required for trials, hearings, depositions, meetings, and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Manage and defend assigned litigation matters from inception through resolution, including trial or dispositive hearing.
• Develop case strategy and provide legal analysis regarding liability, damages, and case value.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, briefs, legal opinions, and memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions, examinations under oath, and other pretrial proceedings.
• Research applicable laws, regulations, and legal issues to support case strategy.
• Partner with the Claims Department to provide practical legal counsel and recommendations.
• Represent GEICO in trials, hearings, conferences, and other proceedings as required.
• Maintain clear, concise, and professional case documentation and communications.
