Job summary

MBRDNA seeks an Associate Corporate Counsel with 0–2 years of experience to provide extensive legal support across employment, commercial contracts/tech transactions, IP, data privacy, AI, compliance, and regulatory matters. The role partners with internal teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The position is open to remote work with on-site or hybrid options in San Jose, Ann Arbor, or Atlanta. Relocation assistance is not available; current pay range will be determined for a 4–6

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and 0–2 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• In-house or law firm experience in tech, automotive, or engineering-related industry preferred.
• Ability to distill complex legal concepts into clear, actionable, business-oriented advice.
• Highly motivated, curious, detail-oriented, and able to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Bar admission in at least one state (CA, MI, or GA preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to Engineering & Product teams, ensuring legal considerations are integrated into design and deployment of new technologies.
• Negotiate, draft, and review commercial contracts including licensing, service, procurement/vendor agreements, NDAs, development, and tech transfer agreements.
• Manage IP protection, commercialization, and licensing in collaboration with internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA) in product development and operations.
• Advise on employment law matters, employee relations, investigations, and workplace policies.
• Provide litigation support, including fact gathering, strategy development, outside counsel management, and tracking.
• Advise on AI and emerging technologies legal issues, ethics, IP, and regulatory developments.
• Support regulatory and trade compliance across products and operations, including export controls and cross-border data flows.
• Provide general corporate counsel across governance, operations, and policies.
