Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney, Ltd. seeks an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of asbestos defense or toxic tort experience for its national asbestos defense team. This role offers remote work within the United States and opportunities to work with top trial attorneys on high-profile matters.

You will support national coordinating counsel, assist in case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation, and collaborate across jurisdictions while advancing your litigation skills.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 2+ years of experience in asbestos defense, toxic tort defense, or related complex litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions, and litigation strategy.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters across jurisdictions.
• Proactive, collaborative, client-focused approach to litigation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with national and local counsel matters and support national coordinating counsel responsibilities.
• Evaluate claims, analyze exposure and causation issues, and develop defense strategies.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, briefs, and manage discovery.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions and support trial readiness.
• Collaborate with clients, insurers, and co-counsel to manage litigation efficiently.
• Support nationwide litigation strategy and trial preparation.
