Segal McCambridge seeks an Associate Attorney to join its West Virginia team, handling toxic tort (asbestos), product liability, and workers' compensation matters with mentorship from seasoned trial attorneys.

Based in Charleston, Morgantown, Wheeling, or elsewhere in West Virginia, the role offers remote or hybrid work options and opportunities to grow within a national litigation practice.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in West Virginia.
• At least 1 year of civil litigation experience.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Experience conducting legal research and handling depositions.
• Prior toxic tort, asbestos, product liability, or workers' compensation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of assigned litigation matters with partner oversight.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Communicate with clients and insurance carriers.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
• Handle cases from inception through resolution while building your litigation skills.
