Job summary

Centene is seeking an Associate Actuary to analyze Medicare Advantage financial performance and support forecasting, bid certification, and decision-making across the Medicare line of business.

The role requires an ASA (or equivalent), a Bachelor's degree, and 2+ years of actuarial experience. Remote within the Continental US with strong Excel and SQL skills, plus AI/Copilot experience a plus, are preferred.

Qualifications

• ASA designation required or equivalent international certification.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years actuarial experience.
• MAAA preferred for Medicare bid certification.
• Strong analytical judgment and advanced Excel and basic SQL required; AI/Copilot experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate business risks and opportunities.
• Analyze data reports, identify trends and gaps, and recommend actions.
• Apply mathematics, probability, statistics, finance, and business principles to calculate financial outcomes.
• Develop probability tables based on analyses of statistical data and other information.
• Research and analyze the impact of legislative changes.
• Determine equitable methods for distributing funds for insurance benefits.
• Create and update actuarial reports.
• Participate in merger and acquisition analyses.
• Certify annual Medicare bids.
