Job summary

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is seeking a core teaching faculty member to educate future leaders in addiction and mental health counseling through its CACREP-accredited online program, with occasional trips to the Center City campus. The role emphasizes innovative teaching, curriculum development, and supervisory experience.

You will contribute to program outcomes, engage in educational research, and support student success through advising and supervision of clinical placements.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision or Counseling, CACREP-aligned.
• Minimum of one year experience substance use counseling/treatment or prevention.
• Teaching, lecturing, and/or training experience in higher education, with online teaching experience preferred.
• Competency in PC applications Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Current professional licensure in addiction or mental health counseling (preferred).
• Knowledge of educational technology tools (preferred).
• Experience designing and teaching online graduate courses (preferred).
• Active involvement in counseling associations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Teach and update course content to optimize learning outcomes.
• Provide supervision for clinical placement experiences to promote competency.
• Offer academic advising and coaching to support scholastic performance.
• Stay current in addiction/mental health treatment and education to develop student expertise.
• Participate in Graduate School activities to improve educational processes.
• Demonstrate academic leadership through teaching, research, and curriculum design.
