Job summary

Knife River seeks a Division Asset Manager to oversee the lifecycle and optimization of division assets, including equipment, vehicles, and facilities. You will lead a team, manage budgets, and align asset strategies with business goals in a remote, full-time role.

The role requires 10+ years in construction materials, strong analytical skills, and up to 40% travel. You will collaborate with safety and compliance teams to ensure regulatory adherence and asset reliability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a management-level position within the construction materials or construction industries.
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, inventory systems, and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to travel approximately 40% of the time is necessary.
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to manage and mentor teams.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory compliance in the construction materials industry.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all assets within the division, including equipment, vehicles, and facilities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors, and analyze costs to identify opportunities for savings while maintaining quality.
  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan.
  • Ensure all assets meet safety and regulatory standards, working closely with safety and compliance teams.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Equipment Managers, technicians, and support staff, fostering professional growth and promoting teamwork.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers for asset procurement, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Track equipment performance metrics, conduct inspections, and implement data-driven improvements for efficiency and reliability.
  • Prepare regular reports on asset utilization, costs, performance, and other metrics for divisional leadership review.
  • Work with division and regional leadership to align asset management strategies with business goals.
