You will execute precision welding to ensure structural integrity, follow AWS D1.1, ASME IX, and local codes, inspect welds, maintain equipment, and work with engineers to meet deadlines. The role demands 5+ years' experience and a track record of defect-free welds.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on structural welding experience in construction.
  • Proficient in arc, stick, MIG, and TIG welding as described.
  • Ability to pass welder qualification tests (WQT) per ASME Sec IX.
  • Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys in high-stress structures.
  • Strong reading of blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision welding on structural steel and pipes using arc, stick, MIG, and TIG methods.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and WPS to ensure code compliance.
  • Conduct pre- and post-weld inspections; prepare for NDT as required.
  • Maintain and calibrate welding equipment for safety and performance.
  • Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and site-specific protocols.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and QC teams to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
  • Document weld procedures, material usage, and inspection results.
  • Troubleshoot welding defects to maintain code compliance.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification renewal.
