Responsibilities include welding vessels per industry codes, reading blueprints, laying out components, inspecting welds, and repairing defects identified during inspections. Strong knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes is required.

Qualifications

• Must pass a 6G Code Welding Test.
• Experience welding vessels to code.
• Ability to read detailed print layouts.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding on vessels and related components per ASME Section VIII, AWS, API, ANSI, and other industry codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, isometrics, and fabrication layouts.
• Lay out, fit, and fabricate vessel components and pipe for welding and installation.
• Inspect welds and workpieces for defects and verify conformance to specs using measuring tools.
• Repair defects identified during visual, UT, or X-ray inspection.
• Perform repairs on vessels or tanks that fail inspection.
• Operate welding equipment and related fabrication tools safely and efficiently.
• Use oxy-fuel and plasma arc cutting equipment as needed.
• Connect hoses and regulators for oxygen and fuel gas systems safely.
• Climb ladders and work from scaffolds when required.
• Report discrepancies and safety concerns to foreman promptly.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and PPE usage.
