Job summary

Chloeta is seeking an Archaeologist – Technical Report Writer to develop Advanced Draft, Draft, and Final Reports for a federal project using fieldwork documentation and project data. This remote, temporary, part-time role up to 250 hours supports compliance with agency standards.

Requires a Bachelor’s in Anthropology/Archaeology, accredited field school, and 3+ years of report-writing experience with writing samples. Travel up to 10% may be required; compensation is hourly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field.
• Successful completion of an accredited archaeological field school.
• Minimum of three (3) years of professional archaeological report-writing experience.
• Writing samples demonstrating ability to prepare archaeological/cultural resources reports.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive archaeological reports based on field investigations and documentation.
• Develop Advanced Draft, Draft, and Final Reports per project requirements and deadlines.
• Review field notes, photographs, maps, and records from field subcontractor.
• Coordinate with subcontractor to obtain information and resolve data gaps.
• Synthesize field data into clear, technically sound written documentation.
• Ensure reports meet project, agency, and federal standards.
• Review government comments and incorporate revisions as required.
• Maintain consistency and quality across report versions.
• Coordinate with agency personnel on schedules and deliverables.
