Job summary

Anne Arundel Dermatology is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist to support the Revenue Cycle team in a remote role. Responsibilities include insurance follow-up, denial resolution, appeals, and collections for open AR, with emphasis on analyzing EOBs/remits and communicating with payers to maximize reimbursement.

The position requires at least 3 years in healthcare AR, familiarity with denial trends, and ability to work independently from a remote location.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in healthcare accounts receivable or revenue cycle
• Experience identifying and resolving insurance denials (eligibility, authorization, medical necessity, coding)
• Manage a personal work queue while meeting productivity/quality expectations
• Familiar with denial trends including modifier-related denials and payer requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication in a remote setting

Responsibilities

• Perform insurance follow-up and collections for open AR
• Investigate denials, identify root causes, and coordinate with clinic/management for improvements
• Communicate issues to management and develop solution steps
• Research payments, recoups, and update systems with accurate activity
• Verify claims adjudication and contact patients to obtain needed information
• Edit claims to meet billing guidelines and ensure electronic submission compliance
• Maintain and prioritize work list and aging inventory
• Stay updated on payer procedures and laws affecting denials
