Qualifications

• One year as Aquatic Biologist 1 or equivalent experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a biological/natural science with related coursework
• Equivalent combination of experience and training including aquatic coursework

Responsibilities

• Field Investigations: conduct aquatic habitat studies and prepare reports
• Permit Analysis: evaluate water obstruction and encroachment applications using research and regulatory criteria
• Species Consultation: coordinate with agencies on threatened and endangered species
• Enforcement Support: prepare notices and assist legal staff in violations
• Technical Guidance: provide recommendations on mitigation, restoration and regulatory compliance
• Data Entry: use Department systems to input information for tracking and reporting
