TalentBurst is seeking an Application Security Engineer for a 3-month, fully remote contract to address a backlog of hard-coded secrets and credential exposure findings across GitHub repositories. You will investigate, validate, coordinate remediation, and document closure with security and engineering teams.

The role emphasizes independent work, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to drive findings to resolution within a short engagement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on application security experience.
• Experience remediating hard-coded credentials in source code.
• Strong scripting in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience with Git/GitHub and remediation coordination.
• Ability to work across multiple teams and drive findings to closure.

Responsibilities

• Review and triage secret-scanning findings from GitHub Advanced Security.
• Investigate repositories to determine validity, ownership, and risk.
• Coordinate remediation and credential rotation/removal from code.
• Partner with developers and security stakeholders to drive closure.
• Document false positives and auditable outcomes.
