Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an Applied Physics Specialist to stress-test AI models against fundamental physics. You will design open-ended physics problems, craft precise golden solutions, and audit AI reasoning for physical consistency across quantum, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics domains.

This fully remote hourly contract requires a PhD-level background, strong clarity in English, and the ability to work independently on a flexible schedule (10–40 hours/week).

Qualifications

• Hold a PhD (completed or near-completion) in Applied Physics or closely related field.
• Demonstrated mastery of core physics pillars and clear, precise English writing.
• Ability to work independently on an asynchronous schedule with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced physics problems at PhD level for AI training and evaluation.
• Author ground-truth solutions with precise constants and unit conversions.
• Audit AI reasoning for physical consistency and identify failures to adhere to first principles.
• Provide expert feedback to refine model behavior on boundary conditions and conservation laws.
