Mission Underwriters is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to design, implement, and scale our enterprise AI platform, focusing on production-grade AI apps, agentic workflows, and LLM integrations across underwriting, operations, finance, and HR. This hands-on role emphasizes secure, scalable AI solutions and governance in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams, apply guardrails, and stay current with AI trends while supporting a remote-friendly operation

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software or AI engineering with production AI experience.
• Hands-on with LLMs, memory/context management, agents, and orchestration frameworks.
• Experience deploying AI features in cloud-native environments.
• Integrations with REST, event-driven architectures, and knowledge repos.
• Familiar with AI evaluation, monitoring, and testing frameworks.
• Understanding of Responsible AI and governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy production-grade AI solutions using LLMs and agents.
• Build intelligent workflows automating underwriting, operations, finance, and HR processes.
• Develop scalable AI services with modern cloud-native architectures.
• Integrate AI with policy administration, data platforms, and document systems.
• Implement prompt engineering, orchestration, and knowledge retrieval solutions.
• Evaluate and optimize foundation models for performance and cost.
• Establish testing, monitoring, and governance for AI quality and safety.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements.
• Build AI components and SDKs to accelerate enterprise capabilities.
• Stay current with AI tech and propose enhancements to Mission's strategy.
