Job summary

Lenze Americas Corporation is seeking an experienced Application Engineer. This is a remote role with regional travel up to 25% across the targeted U.S. states.

You will develop motion control solutions, configure drives, and create PLC/HMI programs while collaborating with Sales to deliver differentiated automation solutions. You will provide advanced technical support, perform commissioning and troubleshooting, and conduct customer-focused demonstrations and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechatronics, robotics, or mechanical engineering is required.
• Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 programming and PLC/HMI programming preferred.
• Experience with motion control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, CAN, Ethernet/IP, RS232/485).
• Strong mechatronics background integrating mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and support remote/onsite as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop system and application solutions including motion architecture and software design.
• Create customer-specific application software and support full project lifecycle from prototype to commissioning.
• Configure and commission drives (VFDs, inverters, servo systems) and develop PLC/HMI programs.
• Provide technical support during testing, start-up, and field validation of automation solutions.
• Deliver product demonstrations and training to customers and internal teams.
