Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas is seeking an Application Development Engineer for the Flexibles Division to act as the main technical contact between customers and TOPPAN. You will oversee development and technical service at assigned accounts, translating requirements into specifications and leading pilot and production trials.

The role emphasizes strong material science knowledge and experience in flexible packaging, with opportunities to travel and collaborate across regions to drive sustainable

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science; preferably in Engineering, Food Science, Packaging, or Plastics related field.
• 2-5 years of Flexible Packaging Product Development and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of flexible converting processes - printing, laminating, coating, slitting, pouching, form/fill/seal.

Responsibilities

• Identify and commercialize flexible packaging opportunities with commercial team.
• Lead technical activities to expand sales and improve product performance.
• Build and maintain strong technical customer relations.
• Translate customer requirements into TOPPAN specifications.
• Develop manufacturing instructions and project plans.
• Coordinate pilot, production, and filling/packing trials.
• Publish trial reports and provide routine technical service.
• Travel domestically and internationally to plants, suppliers, customers.
