Cloud Analytics Technologies, LLC seeks a Kafka/Confluent Platform engineer to design, deploy, and maintain highly available clusters in a remote US-based role. You will drive security, automation with Terraform/Ansible, and on-call incident response for 24-month engagements from Maryland Heights, MO, with flexible remote work.

Competenze

• 3+ years administering enterprise Kafka/Confluent Platform in production.
• 3+ years troubleshooting broker, replication, latency, and Connect tasks.
• 3+ years automating infra with Terraform and Ansible, plus Git-based CI/CD and Python scripting.
• Experience designing highly available Kafka architectures including cross-cluster replication.
• Deep knowledge of Kafka security, RBAC, TLS, SASL, and audit controls.
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, or Confluent Control Center.
• Excellent client-facing communication and English documentation skills.

• Design, deploy, configure, upgrade, and maintain Kafka/Confluent clusters.
• Monitor health, performance, lag, and storage; troubleshoot incidents.
• Build topics, partitions, schemas, and Kafka Connect integrations (S3, Trino, OpenSearch).
• Implement security controls and certificate lifecycle practices.
• Automate provisioning, scaling, upgrades, and patching with Terraform/Ansible.
• Plan backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures for SLAs.
• Lead on-call rotation, document root causes, and coordinate with teams.
• Provide guidance on Kafka architecture and runbooks; stay current with capabilities.
