Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Team Lead for its Android platform to own major features end-to-end. You will work closely with design and engineering, write and review code, and guide the team to deliver reliable releases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on leadership
• Proven Kotlin expertise across Kotlin Coroutines and Kotlin Flow
• Strong experience with MVVM, Dagger 2, Clean Architecture and Android UX
• Experience shipping long-running background work and audio apps
• Ability to drive design decisions and improve team processes
• Proven track record of delivering usable features and improving codebases
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows and integration
• Excellent communication and collaboration across product/design/engineering
• Open-source Android contributions welcome
• Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS tech stack is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own major Android features end-to-end from design to release
• Review PRs and provide constructive feedback
• Manage and unblock team blockers and coordinate with QA
• Plan work and balance review requirements across areas
• Shift verification left and automate nightly QA checks
• Lead planning sessions and ensure decisions are clear
• Mentor junior engineers and foster learning
• Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering
• Handle critical issues and nightly builds for releases
• Contribute to open source Android projects
