Cypress HCM is seeking an Analytics Engineer for a fixed-term role to stabilize a set of reporting data pipelines inherited from another group. You will prioritize backlog fixes, retire unused workflows, and add monitoring to surface failures.

This remote position (PST TZ preferred) emphasizes root-cause analysis and thorough documentation throughout the term. You will work from a prioritized backlog with weekly check-ins, ensuring dashboards reflect accurate data and product-type cost reporting

Formación

• 3+ years in analytics or data engineering with ownership of production pipelines.
• Strong SQL on a distributed engine (Trino/Presto or similar).
• Python and pandas for data processing and validation.
• Experience building and maintaining scheduled workflows (Airflow or similar).
• Working knowledge of Tableau published data sources and extracts.
• Comfortable with git and pull-request workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to debug pipelines with incomplete documentation.
• Clear written documentation habits.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and repair a defined backlog of stalled or broken data pipelines feeding dashboards.
• Replace a drop-and-recreate table build with an in-place write preserving access permissions.
• Migrate workflow alerting off deprecated notification settings and route alerts to a distribution list.
• Inventory BI data sources to find duplicated logic and confirm downstream consumers before changes.
• Retire unused workflows and tables through a staged process with no consumers.
• Build freshness/staleness checks for dashboard data extracts.
• Provide first-line triage of failures on in-scope workflows (up to ~4 hours/week).
• As new product types launch, confirm they flow into cost reporting and write a short reconciliation.
• Write a runbook for every workflow touched and hand all docs to the hiring manager by term end.
• Meet weekly with the hiring manager to review progress; all code changes go through PR review.
